Pete Flynn—owner, farmer, and sweet corn aficionado of Pete’s Produce Farm—has announced that he will retire in November, at the end of this growing season.
It’s true. There really is a Pete, and after 35 years of growing for and with our dear community, Farmer Pete is about ready to go to seed.
Pete’s roots in produce farming date back to the late 80’s, selling sweet corn out of the back of his pickup truck. From there, he built his first stand, and then his first store (currently the site of Bayard Rustin High School), and then, finally, his current store at Westtown School, where he has served the community for nearly 20 years.
In the meantime, we’ll continue to make hay while the sun shines. We invite our longtime customers to join us as we look back on the memories and the relationships that we have built together—planting our gardens, working alongside the Chester County Food Bank, chatting with folks around the husking tables, picking out pumpkins. We look forward to another great season of all that and more!
